Toad
Full body and face rig developed for Disney Research
This toad rig was developed for a unity-based Disney Research project that incorporated their Dynamic Viseme technology. Because of this, I made a strong effort to create a robust facial rig for this character. There are an array of blendshapes to help with expressions, individual lip controls that follow the mesh at all times, and sets of upper and lower eyelid joints to create blinking and soft follow lid deformation. Automatic speech animation was then achievable for this character as a result.
In addition to the facial rig, I had to make sure all the features for the body rig performed within the unity engine and at a fast speed. I incorporated both fk and ik modes for the legs and arms, as the character performed an array of actions that interacted with a user. This was both a fun and challenging character to rig due to its anatomy, including the webbed toes.
